Race Day FAQs

START TIME: Race will begin promptly at 7:00 am CST.

RACE EXPO and PACKET PICK-UP: Packet pick-up will be located at the Vectren Headquarters on the corner of Riverside Drive and Court Street in downtown Evansville.
•  Friday: 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
• 
Saturday: 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
•  Sunday: 5:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m.
(**We do not recommend waiting until race morning**)

TRANSPORTATION: Shuttle service will be provided to the start from 4:45 – 6:30 a.m. from 4 downtown locations. These locations are: The Integra Bank Garage (21 SE Third St.), the YMCA (222 NW Sixth St.), Old National Bank Garage (1 Main St.) and Vectren (211 NW Riverside - at Court and Riverside). Parking will be available at these locations as well as other downtown lots, all within walking distance of the finish area. If you opt to drive to the start, there will be very limited parking and no return shuttles. Runners being dropped off at the start should be let out on Dreier Blvd. at Hartmetz behind the school. Do not pull into the parking lot, and please avoid the course. In order to board a bus, you must have a race number.

WORSHIP SERVICE: An interfaith worship service will be held in the Reitz High School gym at 6:00 a.m. This 30 minute praise and worship service provided by Center Pointe Community Church is sure to inspire.

BAG CHECK: Bag check will be available at the start from 5:15 a.m. until 6:45 a.m. Bags will be transported to the finish for retrieval. We cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items. Please do not check valuables.

TIMING: Chip timing will be provided by The End Result Company. Please attach the official chip to your shoe prior to the race. If you do not have a chip, you will not be timed. At the finish, your chip must be removed by a race official. Unreturned chips will result in a $35.00 fee. Chips will not be available at the start on race day. You must pick up your chip at packet pick-up.

SPLIT TIMING: Timing pads for splits will be located at the 5K, 10K and 15K marks. Each mile will be marked with a mile marker sign, and volunteers will call splits at each mile.

RACE NUMBER: Pin your race number to the front of your shirt, plainly and visibly to race officials, drivers, photographers and spectators. All participants must wear an official race number.

HEALTH AND SAFETY; Drink fluids before, during and after the race. Stay hydrated! There will be 9 water stops along the course. Three of these stations will also offer Gatorade (mile 4 water stop, between mile 7 and 8 at the Signature School and mile 9 near Bayard Park). Traffic control will be provided by YMCA volunteers, the Evansville Police Department and R.E.A.C.T. However, please be advised that although volunteers along the course will deter traffic to the best of their ability, safety is ultimately your own responsibility. Watch for vehicles!

FIRST AID STATIONS: First aid will be provided by ProRehab. There will be first aid stations at mile 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 12.5 near the water stations. There will also be roving medics and ambulance support on the course. At the finish, the ProRehab tent will be available for participants. All aid workers will be wearing bright red shirts. If you see someone in danger, please CALL 911 or contact an aid worker.

PORTABLE TOILETS: Portable toilets will be located at the start and finish as well as seven locations on the course.

POST RACE CELEBRATION: After the race join fellow participants, families and friends for food, fun and fellowship on the riverfront. Participants will find water, Gatorade and many food items to help them replenish.

AWARDS: Awards will be provided to the top ten men and top ten women finishers. Age group awards (after removing the top ten) will be given to the top four age division winners.

SERIES AWARDS: Series awards will be provided for the top three male and female age division winners who registered for the series of races (prior to the 5K) and completed all three events. The awards ceremony will begin after the event near the finish line.
