"Jump Start" Training
• Free program to members and non-members
• Registration includes training sessions, YMCA passes, encouragement and camaraderie!
This seven week program is designed for those beginners interested in training for the goal of completing a half marathon and needing assistance increasing mileage to prepare for the "Team 13" program.
"Team 13, sponsored by Vectren" Half Marathon Training
Over the past seven years, thousands of people have worked with volunteer trainers in this program to train for and complete the Evansville Half Marathon. This training is designed to help individuals at all fitness levels train for the half marathon. This is your "last chance" to begin a training program for the October race.
All trainings will take place on Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays at 7:00 a.m. This training program is open to the community. An informational registration session will be held July 9th from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Downtown YMCA. Training begins July 12th.
Please complete the form below and return it to the YMCA. A schedule of mileage and locations will be provided upon registration. Registration fee includes door prizes, access to email updates, a special race number identifying you as a training participant and much more!

Training Cancellations: Training will be cancelled if there is LIGHTNING. Also, training will be cancelled if a HEAT ADVISORY or EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING is issued by the National Weather Service which extends beyond training start time. Please access the NWS website at http://www.crh.noaa.gov. The YMCA facebook page, Y website and race website all have this link posted. If we cancel a Saturday morning training due to heat we will attempt to hold the training on Sunday morning (same location and mileage) at 6:00 am.
